Primary Purpose:
Responsible for conducting and organizing the Haitian Family Services Program (HFS) outreach activities, community presentations and workshops in collaboration with the HFS Program Coordinator. The incumbent will be responsible for commuting to Broward County to provide clients with case management, referrals to the various social service agencies and other relevant information as necessary.

Essential Duties:

• Coordinate and conduct community outreach, workshops and community presentations in coordination with the HFS Program Coordinator.

• Enroll eligible clients in the HFS Program; provide case management, referrals to the various social service providers and disseminate relevant information regarding available services to individuals in the Palm Beach and Broward County areas.

• Maintain case files for each case in accordance with the program guidelines regulations and as required by CWS/IRP.
• Prepare individual Service Plan for each client and arrange and refer to approved services in accordance with the client service plan.
• Follow-up with referrals to social service providers, governmental agencies legal service providers etc.
• Maintain statistical information on outreach activities, community presentations and workshops. Submit monthly statistical report to the HFS Program Coordinator/CWS Associate Director.
• Assist in the coordination and hosting of a weekly Haitian Creole language community radio show, which will include HFS program information as well as other social services available for the targeted population.
• Conduct client orientation at Broward County locations and CWS Palm Beach sub-office, as well as administering pre and post test to client’s participating in the orientation.
• Reports daily program activities to the HFS Program Coordinator.
• Assist in developing a network of medical, psychological, faith-based organizations, social and legal professionals to provide low-cost or pro bono services to clients.
• Attend local and national CWS and DCF/ORS training conferences as approved by the CWS/IRP Miami Associate Director.
• Perform other related duties as requested.

Qualifications

Education Requirement: Bachelor's Degree (4 yrs. college)
Experience: At least 2 years
Skills: Education: Bachelors Degree and/or equivalent professional experience.

Experience: Minimum two years of experience in coordinating and conducting outreach activities, case management and radio broadcasting. Minimum two years experience working with refugee and immigrant populations.

The Electoral Organizer will report to the National Field Director of Politics and work hand in hand with CCC’s organizing staff to help develop and implement the Center’s electoral strategy. This position requires extensive and frequent travel.

Principal Responsibilities:


• Help create, implement and evaluate the Center’s plan for 501(c)(3) programs and activities to build non-partisan electoral capacity among grassroots partners and constituencies.

• Support the strategic direction for the Center’s non-partisan electoral work, and in coordination with CCC’s organizing staff and field partners, contribute to the advancement the organization’s issue priorities through a comprehensive organizational strategy that links electoral organizing to issue work at both a national and grassroots level.

• Provide the means for technical assistance to community-based organizations on a range of electoral capacities, including but not limited to list management, plan writing, goal setting, targeting, budgeting and building a field infrastructure.

• Track the national landscape related to electoral organizing, including development of best practices identified by other national organizations and networks, national constituency organizations, election protection organizations, and allies in the labor, faith, and civil rights arena.

• Monitor demographic and political trends related to voting and civic participation to create reports.

• Work with the Center’s communications department to increase visibility for the Center’s electoral work, including talking to the press as needed.

• Represent the Center in coalition meetings, state tables and trainings.

• Work with other Center staff to advance their understanding and use of electoral tools and strategies in the context of community organizing.

• Travel throughout the country to work with local partner organizations, fundraise, and meet with grassroots community, labor, non-profit and political leaders.

Qualifications

Skills: Qualifications:

• Strong commitment and passion to building the political power of disenfranchised communities, particularly people of color.

• At least five years of experience in electoral work with a strong background in community organizing and demonstrated ability to relate to grassroots community organizations.

• Strong understanding of legal parameters for electoral organizing in 501(c)(3) context.

• Experience in working with local and national electoral coalitions.

• Significant experience in electoral campaign planning, program development and budgeting.

• Broad strategic vision that encompasses base-building, coalition-building, public policy, communications, and field and electoral organizing.

• Strong team and coalition management skills.

• Excellent oral communication, public speaking, and writing skills.

• Experience and comfort working in a multi-issue and multi-cultural environment.

Ideally, this field organizer will work out of our field office in Helena, Montana (though working out of our headquarters in Billings is a possibility). Each of our organizers works with Northern Plains as a whole and also with our locally-based affiliate groups, mostly in small, rural communities, and also with our issue task forces. Overnight travel averages perhaps 2-3 times a month. As a Northern Plains Organizer, you won’t be tied to a desk, you’ll meet lots of people, and you’ll make change happen at the grassroots level.

SPECIFIC DUTIES INCLUDE:
* Plan and implement strategy on issue campaigns
* Coordinate issue campaigns
* Conduct research
* Participate in grassroots fundraising efforts
* Train members in organizational skills
* Communicate clearly, orally and in writing
* Recruit new members
* Generate turnout for events
* Help members in their contacts with public officials and the press
* Assist with duties such as member renewal, special events, fundraising, and routine office tasks

Qualifications

Skills: Commitment to Northern Plains’ issues and values, ability to get along well with people from diverse backgrounds, strong speaking and writing skills, ability to travel and be away overnight, willingness to work long hours when needed. Also helpful: experience (either as a volunteer or staffer) with a nonprofit organization working for social change or on environmental issues, experience in a political campaign, general familiarity with the workings of legislative bodies and agencies, familiarity with conservation and agriculture issues, experience with the media and fundraising. This is very much a “people” job.

Job Description

The Communications Director is responsible for supervising a high-performing communications team and managing the overall messaging strategy for Working America and the Working America Education Fund. The Communications Director will work closely with the Executive Director to set strategic communications goals for the organization and to raise Working America’s public profile

Reports to: Executive Director

Duties:
• In consultation with Executive Director, develop and implement over-arching communications strategy for Working America;
• Ensure message continuity across all areas of communications program;

• Assist in supervision, execution and promotion of special events as needed;
• Serve as media spokesperson as needed;

Qualifications

Skills: The Communications Director should have a demonstrated ability to manage a dynamic communications team in a fast-paced and rapidly evolving work environment. Fluency in the realm of political ideas and public intellectual discourse with particular insight to issues related to the labor movement is strongly preferred. She/he must be an independent thinker who is able to manage both departmental staff and individual responsibilities, often under tight deadlines.

Additional qualifications include:

• Demonstrated ability to successfully oversee large-scale, multi-faceted communications projects;
• Ability to message to varied audiences;
• Experience in various communications platforms, including traditional press and social media, preferred;
• Ability to build, motivate and work within a team to accomplish project goals;
• Outstanding staff supervision, communication and interpersonal skills;
• Demonstrated understanding of planning and executing print and online campaigns for labor unions or similar organizations (e.g. think tank, political organization, academic institution, etc.);
• Demonstrated commitment to social change, with a background in, or strong familiarity with the labor movement, movements for progressive change and/or political/issue campaigns;
• Effective time management skills, including prioritizing and managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment;
• Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate and work well with internal and external staff at all levels;
• Demonstrated ability to be flexible and able to adapt quickly to meet project needs;
• Ability to work with grassroots and community movements to plan, develop and implement messaging and other related projects;
